Orkid, the leading women’s care brand of P&G, aims to strengthen the ties of young girls with sports with the “Keep Her Playing” project by bringing together women who have a common interests in sports and who have achieved many successes in different sectors. This project has been implemented with the aim of enabling young girls to continue sports with confidence. With each Orkid packet purchased within the scope of the project, sports equipment support will be provided, reaching tens of thousands of young girls engaged in sports in 20 provinces across different regions of Turkey.
Orkid, which has been supporting women and young girls to continue their lives with confidence for more than 40 years, is now launching the “Keep Her Playing” project for our young girls to continue their sports life and to strengthen their ties with sports. Within the scope of the project, the brand brings together successful women whose common interest is sports, and shares messages that will strengthen young girls’ ties with sports.
Ambassadors of courage address female students
Coming together for the “Keep Her Playing” project, successful actress Bige Önal, captain of the National Women’s Volleyball Team Eda Erdem, Turkey’s youngest female rally champion Burcu Burkut Erkul and triathlete İpek Öztosun, who also teaches mathematics, share messages of encouragement with female students. The common point of the courage ambassadors in front of the camera is that their close relationships with sports during their youth had positive effects on their achievements in life and they encourage young girls to continue sports.
Not being able to ‘Keep Her Playing’ also affects girls’ self-confidence
According to the research carried out by Orkid with Ipsos throughout Turkey, 77% of women who played sports during adolescence state that sports helped them become the person they are today. Women who do sports during adolescence emphasize that sports improve self-confidence, mental endurance and teamwork skills in addition to their physical fitness. Despite this, 1 in 5 young girls do not exercise at all due to the need to focus on school and exams, financial difficulties, or lack of support from family and friends.
Speaking about the project, P&G Turkey, Caucasus and Central Asia CMO and Vice President of Marketing, Onur Yaprak said, “As a brand that supports women and young girls to be empowered and more self-confident, we know how important it is that sports life be uninterrupted, not only in terms of education, but also in terms of social and environmental aspects. Research shows that, playing sports helps girls gain self-confidence and teaches them important life skills. With our long-standing mission to encourage our young girls to participate in sports, we will come together with the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TOC) and support the provision of necessary sports equipment for girls to continue in sports with our ‘Keep Her Playing’ campaign. We aim to raise awareness about this issue with the ‘Keep Her Playing’ project, which we have implemented so that young girls can grow up as self-confident individuals, and to contribute to the girls’ ability to continue their sports lives with our support campaign.”
Turkish Volleyball Federation will support the “Keep Her Playing” Campaign
