Chemistry is very important in terms of Turkey’s economy by providing to inputs and intermediate goods for many industries. It also contains sub-sectors such as mineral oils and fuels, plastic products, paints, cosmetics, drugs and pharmaceuticals within medical products. Achieved double-digit growth in the last 10 years the sector, is growing more than the growth of Turkey. It is an indication of the chemical exports for this growth to take place in top first three Turkey exports. 2014 January – September period chemistry of our exports was 13 billion 452 million dollars. By 4,09 percent increase compared to the same period last year. plastics and articles group were the most export products made in this period with 4 billion 373 million dollars in thereof; mineral fuels, mineral oils and products were second with 3 billion 398 million dollars, rubber and rubber goods were the third with 1 billion 48 million dollars. One of rapidly growing sub-sector in the chemistry industry, our cosmetic has raised its export volume to 1 billion 172 million dollars last year. It gained exports volume of 1 billion 335 million dollars in January – September 2014 period. We are working to increase the export of the cosmetic industry, which has a quite high potential. We have given weight to the promotion and marketing efforts with national participation and organization of fairs we organize the world’s many geographies as well as international trade and procurement committees. Our goal is to increase the share of cosmetics market of our country in the world. Our branding work accelerated with Cosmetic Promotion Group, which we carry out in cooperation with AKMİB (Mediterranean Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association) in coordination of the Ministry of Economy the General Directorate of Export. We will promote the Turkish cosmetics sector in international fairs and events with new logo and the smell of Turkey. Thus, the perception of Turkish cosmetic products will increase and cosmetic sector will be able to receive a greater share of the world market. In addition, there is a very important exhibition concerning the cosmetics sector between 12 and 14 November 2014. We will make national participation organization for the fourth time to Cosmoprof Asia Hong Kong, China fair, which is one of the largest cosmetic trade fair in Pacific region. Our 13 companies will be exhibiting their products in 210 square meter area.
