Displeasing Mistakes in Aesthetics

Faulty aesthetic operations may affect not only people’s psychology but their health adversely as well.
Explaining that the second operations made due to the faulty aesthetic operations may cause even worse results Prof. Dr. Erol Kışlaoğlu gave details concerning the faults made.
The Crooked Parts in the Nose should be Straightened
Sometimes surgeons, who are not plastic surgeons, per­form the operations and this brings the faults along. Dr. Kışlaoğlu noted that some doctors take bone and nasal cartilage more than needed from the nose and they end the operation without closing the gap between the bones leaving open and continued as follows: “Taking out the crooked bones rather than straightening them may cause big problems in time. Another mistake that is done in na­sal surgeries is that the people having breathing problems have septoplasty first and then have rhinoplasty. During septoplasty the nasal cartilage tissue is taken leaving not enough tissue for the next operation. People who think that they need these two operations should plan having them at the same time. Another problem that may arise concerning the nasal operations is that after open nasal operations, especially in dark skinned people, a trace is left between two nostrils.”
Liposuction is a Shaping Operation
Stressing that the biggest mistake made in liposuction operations is removing an excessive amount of fat from the body in order to have the patient lose weight Dr. Kış­laoğlu kept on conveying his thoughts as follows: “Liposu­ction is a shaping operation. It should be known that re­moving excessive amount of fat carries high risk in terms of patient’s health. Skin has a certain capacity of shrinking and when this capacity is exceeded floppiness and conca­vity occur in the skin. During or after faulty operation, clot occurs in veins causing thromboembolism in lungs whi­ch is the most important risk in liposuction. This is such a mistake that can take the person to death. In case the liposuction operation from over the kneecap, especially in elderly patients, is not performed properly, the skin here may prolapse on the knee. If it is not applied properly it may even cause serious burns.”
Prosthesis Placed by Force Reason of Complication
According to Dr. Kışlaoğlu in mammoplasty enlargement operations, the biggest problem is an unhealthy commu­nication between the patient and the doctor and not co­ming to an agreement in the size of the breast. As a result, the patient cannot get used to her new size or even if she likes, she cannot carry it later. Too large prosthesis doesn’t give natural results, besides since they are placed by for­ce, they may cause complications. The unnatural breasts which look like two hard spheres from far, the inequality between two breasts, asymmetric looks, prosthesis big size which may disturb the patient in time, complicati­ons caused by prosthesis placed by force may be counted among the mistakes being made.
Faulty Lip Enhancement
Dr. Kışlaoğlu said that the patient’s own tissue as well as natural substances such as hyaluronic acid can be prefer­red for lip enhancement. Too artificial and bump looks, complications causing problems in terms of both health and looks are among the mistakes seen.
Faulty Hair Transplantation
Even though hair transplantation looks easy, it is a very important and tricky operation both from doctor’s and the patient’s side. In micro implantation method each hair follicle is transplanted one by one. Many problems may occur in case of not being patient or not having the ope­ration done by experienced hands. In case the hair is not transplanted not sticking to the indentations in the fore­head and temporal side, the hair gathering together in the top side of the head look like a wig.
